GET COLLEGE CREDIT IN HIGH SCHOOL FAQ
(Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: When is the deadline to turn in my paper work?
A: Students must submit their paperwork to the school district 60 days before the beginning of ACC’s semester. Certain school districts have specific deadlines. Check with your high school counselor.
Q: How do I know what classes to select?
A: Talk to your high school counselor about what college classes you are interested in; if you or your counselors have any questions regarding ACC classes, call (303) 797-5622 or email howard.fukaye@arapahoe.edu
Q: Am I responsible for all of the costs?
A: Most districts require that you pay tuition and fees up front; if you successfully pass the course, the district will reimburse you for the tuition. Certain school districts will prepay your tuition for you. Check with your high school and/or school district for more information. Generally, student fees, books and transportation are not reimbursable.
Q: How much is tuition and fees?
A: Like most of the higher education institutions, the tuition at ACC changes annually. Certain courses may require a high operating cost fee. (For the current tuition and fee rates, please visit ACC current tuition and fees.)
Q: How many classes may I take?
A: Generally, two classes per semester. It is totally at the school districts discretion if they agree to reimburse or pay beyond two classes. Summer semester is excluded for this program.
Q: Am I required to take a placement test before I enroll in ACC
classes?
A:

If you plan to enroll in college level English or college level math at ACC, you are required to take the Computer Placement Test (CPT). The CPT scores will determine if the student is prepared for college level English and/or college level math courses. Call (303) 797-5659 for testing schedule.

NOTE: Students may be exempt from the CPT if they have taken the A.C.T. or S.A.T. college entrance test with the following scores:

ACT: English 18, Reading 18, Math 19
SAT: Verbal 450, Math 440

If you are exempt because of your ACT/SAT scores, submit a photocopy of the scores to the ACC Advising Center.

Q: I am interested in a class that has a pre-requisite?
A: Students must complete the pre-requisite or contact the instructor
for permission to enroll in the course.
